When Will Facebook Be Ready for Business?
For awhile we've been pushing the idea of Facebook evolving to support business social networking alongside the "social" social networking. But in order for that to work, the site needs to find a way to shed its image as a beacon of college hooliganism -- Facebook is a place to post party pictures, not product pitches. But even so, the appeal of leveraging Facebook's social graph for business is too good to pass up. As we've noted in the past, there are already huge business networks on Facebook -- 30,000 Microsoft employees, 8,500 Googlers, etc. Those relationships are ripe for exploiting for business networking, but there is a prevailing feeling that that's not what Facebook is for.
Clearly, there is a potential for Facebook to be a useful productivity tool -- it is one of the web's best address books, and plays host to some of the richest social data, which could be used for very worthwhile purposes. But it has yet to shed its "fun" image. The top 40 apps on the Facebook platform are all of the "play" variety. And of course, Facebook doesn't want to completely shed its college clothing, it parlayed that core "fun" networking image into a $15 billion valuation.
A couple of days ago Nick O'Neill wondered if productivity apps would ever find a place on Facebook. It is hard to answer that question with a flat out no, because the opportunity is just too great. As Facebook's core audience of early college users grow older and enter the work force, if the company can retain their attention, then certainly Facebook could be a worthy platform for business networking. But evidence points to that being doubtful to happen any time soon.

Chilirec Is Like TiVo for Internet Radio
Chilirec is a new Swedish music site found through Go2Web20 that extracts individual tracks from internet radio stations. It then lets you either play them back in the browser or download them as MP3 files for later use.
You start with Chilirec by choosing from a preselected set of a few hundred channels. Two downsides: you can’t load your own channels and you can’t listen to them normally before choosing to record. But once you to start recording, Chilirec will begin loading the songs into its Flash-based player so you can play them back at your convenience (somehow it knows just when songs begin and end, and which ones they are).
Chilirec is a nice tool for when you don’t know exactly which music you want to add to your collection. Other music search sites like Songza and Skreemr are better when you have an artist or song name in mind. And of course, Pandora and Jango are great for when you want to find music related to the stuff you already know you like.

Add Video Comments to Blogs!
A new trend is storming the blogosphere - video comments! Though Viddler had released a wordpress plugin earlier enabling video comments, it needed a word from Techcrunch to get the ball rolling. Be prepared for more fun with comments.
Check out the Seesmic-wp-plugin that allows you to accept authenticated or anonymous video comments and moderate video comments exactly like text comments! After you enable it, readers can leave a video comments on every post. However, You need to create a Seesmic account to start leaving comments (as they will host the videos). Note that the plugin also integrates directly into the Wordpress admin page, allowing bloggers to create a video and embed it into their post directly.

The mobile version of the Firefox browser is now available for download in the form of an early prototype. This download of the browser, code-named "Fennec," is only intended for developers as it is still in the pre-alpha stages.
The browser already shows a lot of promise.

Intuit wants in on the race to become the platform for enterprise apps in the cloud. It is opening up QuickBase to developers who want to build new hosted Web applications and businesses on top of it. QuickBase has been around for eight years and has amassed 250,000 users. At its core is an online database around which companies can create their own customized enterprise apps for things like project management or issue tracking. Now developers can join the QuickBase beta to develop their own enterprise apps on Intuit’s infrastructure. Intuit will host the apps, take care of the billing, and allow developers to charge whatever they want.

Google announced today that mapping markup language KML has been accepted by and will be given to the Open Geospatial Consortium, an international mapping standards body.
Now that KML is an accepted open standard, not controlled by any single private company, there's all the more reason for any organization to publish its geographic data in KML.
On face it appears that the opening of KML is a move intended to help the whole mapping world grow, with the assumption that market leader Google will only benefit from this overall growth of the sector.

Yo elegí el Shopping Abasto de Buenos Aires porque es un lugar al que suelo ir a divertirme con amigas y eso, para mi, es importante.

En el momento en que decidió hacerse cargo de los negocios de la familia, Elsztain recién había terminado el secundario en el Colegio Nacional Buenos Aires y estaba cursando los primeros años de la carrera de economía en la UBA. La carrera universitaria nunca la pudo terminar, pero con ayuda de Soros y su habilidad para desarrollar nuevos negocios fue construyendo un verdadero imperio inmobiliario, que hoy incluye a los principales shoppings de Buenos Aires (Alto Palermo, Patio Bullrich, Paseo Alcorta, Design Center y Abasto), campos ganaderos y agrícolas en todo el país (agrupados bajo la empresa Cresud), hoteles de lujo (Llao-Llao, Intercontinental y Sheraton Libertador) y varios edificios emblemáticos, como el Rulero de Retiro, el Laminar Plaza, de Catalinas, y su última adquisición, la torre de Microsoft, por la que hace unas semanas pagó 27 millones de dólares.

Elegí esta canción porque una vez me contaron que se trataba de una muerte, ese día la escuché mil veces para aprenderme la letra y me encantó, aunque era un poco triste. Ahora es la favorita de mi hermana. Yo creo que es muy pegadiza y tiene un significado hermoso y que me llega, por eso la puse en este blog.
